The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan opens a representative office in Turkmenistan
Yesterday, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan has opened a representative office in Ashgabat. The opening ceremony was attended by Chairman of the SOCAR Supervisory Board, Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov, Advisor to the President of Turkmenistan on oil and Gas issues Ashirgulu Begliyev, SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf and ambassadors of the two countries, the SOCAR press service
Speaking at the event, Mikail Jabbarov noted that the opening of a SOCAR representative office in Ashgabat is a manifestation of confidence in strengthening long-term cooperation with Turkmenistan and realizing the common interests of our countries in the energy sector.
The 2023 is a significant year for the Azerbaijani people, and opening of the second SOCAR representative office abroad (previously in Bulgaria - Turan) within the framework of the "Year of Heydar Aliyev" is of particular importance, the Minister said. He added that the legal basis of our relations consists of more than 100 interstate and intergovernmental documents signed between our countries.
Advisor to the President of Turkmenistan for oil and gas issues Ashirgulu Begliyev expressed confidence that the delegation would make a valuable contribution to the further expansion of cooperation in the energy sector between our countries.
SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf noted that the opening of the SOCAR representative office in Turkmenistan is a landmark event.
At a joint meeting, Batyr Amanov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and his colleagues, as well as SOCAR President Rovshan Najaf, noted good prospects for further development of cooperation in the energy sector. The parties discussed the issues of energy partnership on the agenda, the current state of cooperation on energy exchange and the joint development of the “Dostlug” carbon deposit.
