The share of the non-oil and gas sector in Azerbaijan’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is expected to rise from 68% to 71.3% by 2025, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, and Entrepreneurship, Azer Amiraslanov, stated during a plenary session of the Milli Majlis.

Azerbaijan’s oil production in 2024 is projected to be 29.2 million tons, said Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov during the discussion of the 2025 state budget in the Milli Majlis (Parliament).

The first container train has been launched from Baku through the ferry to Kazakhstan and onward to Xi'an, China. The train, consisting of 62 containers with petroleum coke, will reach its destination in just 12 days (by December 5).

BP Azerbaijan announced that Chingiz Hajiyev has been appointed Vice President for Business Development in the Caspian Region, effective January 2025. In his new role, Hajiyev will become a member of BP's global oil and gas business development leadership team and will work under the guidance of Andy MacAslan, Vice President for this division. He will operate from the Baku office and focus primarily on BP's business in the AGT (Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye) region, while also representing AGT leadership within BP's global business development team.
