The abrupt cancellation of the Turkish President's scheduled visit to Washington on May 9 has sparked speculations of deep-seated tensions and unmet expectations between Turkey and its long-standing allies in the United States, the European Union, and NATO. This development underscores potential dissatisfaction with Ankara's handling of its relations with Moscow amidst broader geopolitical shifts.

After a 13-year pause,  on April 22, Turkish President R.T. Erdogan visited Baghdad  in order to strengthen relations with the central government of Iraq. Could this visit be a harbinger of paradigm shifts in political Islam?

In the words of Necmettin Erbakan, a colorful face of Turkish politics, as Iran's "cosmetic attack" on Israel did not cause alarm in Turkey, claims that some authorized representatives warned Israel earlier were not taken seriously in Tel Aviv.
