Erdogan is suing the activists of social networks
Baku/21.02.14/Turan : The trial against 29 people accused of inciting people via Twitter, to participate in protests in Gezi park will begin in Izmir city court on 24th February. They can be jailed for three years.
According to the website "haberler.com", the investigation was launched in June 2013, and lasted for seven months.
All 29 accused do not know each other are, but they are blamed for the activities within the "organization" , calling on people not obey the laws.
It is an interesting fact, that in the statement of claim, a victim is indicated only by the name of the Turkish Prime Minister, Erdogan.
According to the indictment, all 29 defendants caused damage to 33 banks, 10 houses, 75- jobs, 20 buses and 31 police cars. However, people involved in the investigation as witnesses said they did not participate in the protest.
Protests in connection with the Erdogan government's intention to demolish the Gezi Park and Ataturk Cultural Centre, and to build new buildings on their sites took place in May 2013 in Istanbul. However, the people managed to prevent the government's plan. -05D04-
