13 more Armenian soldiers to stand trial
Baku/07.06.21/Turan: A preliminary investigation into a criminal case against 13 members of an armed group that entered the territory of Azerbaijan for acts of terror and sabotage activities has completed in Baku, the State Security Service and the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan said in a joint statement.
The investigation established that a group of Armenian citizens illegally crossed the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan on November 26-27, 2020 and took up combat positions in the forest zone of northwestern part of the village of Hadrut, Khojavend district.
Until December 13, 2020, they carried out armed attacks on enterprises and institutions located on the territory of the country, as well as on individuals, with the aim of violating public security and creating panic among the population. Note that members of the group staged explosions, fires and other acts of terror that threatened life and health of people and caused significant damage to property.
Note that materials of the criminal case against members of the illegal armed group - Khovanesyan Haikaz Koryunovich, Manukyan Varazdat Amushavanovich, Stepanyan David Stepanovich, Tosunyan Levan Ashotovich and others (total 13 accused) - were sent to the court for consideration. They are charged under Articles of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan as follows: 214.2.1, 214.2.3 (terrorism committed by a group of persons with prior agreement, an organized group or a criminal community), 228.3 (illegal arms trafficking as part of an organized group), 279.2 (creation of armed formations or groups not stipulated by the law, with attacks on enterprises, institutions, organizations or individuals) and 318.2 (illegal crossing of the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan by a group of persons with prior agreement or an organized group).
It should be added that earlier, materials have been sent to the court as applied to 14 other members of this armed group.—06D-

Ramil Eynaliev, an activist from the Lankaran branch of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PPFA), has been administratively arrested for 30 days on charges of "disobeying the police." According to the PPFA, Eynaliev was detained the day before and taken to the third police station of the Khazar district in Baku. The party believes that the true reason for his arrest is a critical comment he made on social media.

The Investigative Committee of Russia continues its investigation into the criminal case regarding the crash of an AZAL plane near the city of Aktau on December 25. According to a statement from the Investigative Committee, specialists from the Interstate Aviation Committee are working together with the Russian authorities to examine the data retrieved from the plane's black boxes at the Brazilian Aviation Accident Investigation Center (SENIPA).

On January 16, the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons of Azerbaijan reported that 32 families, totaling 153 people, returned to Jabrayil. A total of 1,487 people (358 families) have now returned to the Jabrayil region. The day before, 6 families (25 people) returned to the city of Khodjaly, 18 families (92 people) to the village of Ballidja, and 2 families (8 people) to Shusha. In total, 10,675 people have returned to the liberated territories to date.

Georgia's Foreign Minister, Maka Botchorishvili, arrived in Baku for an official visit on January 16, and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze is expected to arrive in Baku on January 17, reports Echo of the Caucasus, citing government sources. Western countries refuse to recognize the legitimacy of Kobakhidze and his government due to the rigged elections. Until now, Kobakhidze and members of his cabinet have not made any official foreign visits.
