Ilham Aliyev issued a decree on granting compensation to the families of 10 oil workers who died on December 15 in the collapse of the overpass on NGDU named after Narimanov. The amount of compensation is not named in the document. SOCAR entrusted to determine the degree of damage to infrastructure in the disaster area and find its further usefulness.
SOCAR is also obliged to investigate compliance with the rules and regulations of safety facilities and equipment operation located on its balance, to eliminate the revealed shortcomings. The President recommended the Prosecutor General to immediately investigate the incident.
The poor state of the large maritime infrastructure has been spoken about for many years. However, the authorities and the leadership of SOCAR has never responded not these warnings. As a result, in recent years the number of dead oil industry workers has reached 50. -71D-
