A. Pashazade positively assessed the results of his visit to Iran
The head of the Caucasus Muslims Board (CMB), Sheikhulislam Pashazade, positively assessed the results of his visit to Iran 18-21 May. In an interview with Turan, Pashazade said that during the visit the main topic of discussion was cooperation in the sphere of religion.
In particular, he met with the spiritual leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei, and other religious figures. Moreover, a meeting with Khamenei was held in the Azerbaijani language, said Pashazade.
They also discussed the question on getting religious education by Azerbaijani students in Iran.
Pashazade said it is wrong to compare in media his visit to Iran with the visit of Ramiz Mehdiyev, the head of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration, to this country. According to him, it was a different mission.
Pashazade also noted that the Azerbaijani writer Khalida Khalid and her driver Shamhal Huseynov are still under arrest in Iran. However, Pashazade expressed optimism that they would be released soon. -05B04-
