A trial against Serge Sargsyan started in Yerevan
Baku / 25.02.20 / Turan: On Tuesday, a trial began in Yerevan on the case of the third President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, the owner of the Flash company Barsegh Beglaryan, the former Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan and two other former government officials.
Two hours before the start of the meeting, supporters of Sargsyan and members of the Republican Party gathered in the courtyard to start a protest against the allegations. The investigation charged the defendants with large-scale embezzlement.
The ex-president of Armenia and other persons are accused of stealing funds for the purchase of diesel fuel for $ 1 million in 2013.
Serzh Sargsyan rejected the charge against him. The Republican Party in its statement indicated that the case was ordered and had political motives.
A trial is being held in Yerevan against the second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, accused of overthrowing the constitutional order. -02D-
