Advisory Majlis Adjourned Meeting on April 28
The Executive Power of Baku proposed the Advisory Majlis of Democratic Forces (AMDF) to hold the rally designated for April 28 demanding democratic presidential elections in the yard of the driving school in the 20th Section area on the outskirts.
AMDF previously proposed a meeting in front of the cinema Tabriz, in the 8th Kilometer area, in front of the metro station Darnagul or near the holiday house Gold Taj in the 4th Micro District.
AMDF described the EP decision as a violation of freedom of assembly, because according to the Constitution of Azerbaijan, for demonstrations permit is not required, but rather a notice in the appropriate authority.
As the head of the party Aydinlar (Intellectuals) Gulamhuseyn Alibeili said at today's meeting of the leaders of the parties in AMDF, the proposal by the Mayor's office was rejected as unacceptable. For this reason AMDF canceled the rally. -06C-
