Alfonso Dominguez brings silver medal to Azerbaijan
Cuban Alfonso Dominguez, who competes for Azerbaijan, became a silver medallist of the Olympic Games among boxers in the 92 kg weight category.
In the final bout he lost to Uzbekistan's Lalizbek Mullajonov 0:5.
Dominguez won Azerbaijan’s fifth medal at the Olympics.
Earlier in Paris, judokas Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) and Zelim Kotsoyev (100 kg) became champions, taekwondist Gashim Magomedov (58 kg) won a silver medal and Greco-Roman wrestler Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) won bronze.
Azerbaijan ranks 24th in the unofficial medal standings.
The USA is leading (33-39-39), followed by China (33-26-23) and Australia (18-16-14) rounds out the top 3.
