Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov, who arrived in Tehran for the inauguration ceremony of the President of Iran, was received only by Vice President Mohammad Reza Arif. The parties discussed the development of bilateral relations, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers said in a statement.
In turn, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan was received by Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and new Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. At the meeting, Hamnei stated that "Iran regards the Zangezur corridor as harmful to Armenia and insists on it." In turn, Pashinyan replied that "Armenia does not recognize any non-regional route on its territory."
