Ali Hasanov Predicted Imminent Start of Talks on Karabakh
The Presidential Aide Ali Hasanov says that in the coming days an intensive phase of negotiations on Karabakh settlement will start.
In an interview with KhazarTV Hasanov noted that Azerbaijan demands an intensification of the negotiations and the liberation of Azerbaijani lands.
He further said that the Armenians agreed to a ceasefire after the call of President Vladimir Putin, initially rejecting a similar appeal of the OSCE Minsk Group.
At the same time, a prominent Moscow political scientist, member of the Public Chamber under the President of the Russian Federation Sergey Markov said the future agreement provides for the release of at least five regions around Karabakh. This should happen before the end of this year, he said in Baku.
Recall that the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, visiting Baku, also talked about the release of the regions around Karabakh and the simultaneous determination of the status of this region.
Thus, Ali Hasanov confirmed the fact that the initiative in the negotiations comes from Moscow. It is noteworthy that the OSCE Minsk Group does not comment on Lavrov's statement and others on the principles of settlement or the options being discussed. -02D-
