Aliev promptly congratulates Erdogan
After the announcement of the initial results of the presidential elections in Turkey, the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev called Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and congratulated him on his victory.
During the conversation, Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed confidence in further successful development based on strategic cooperation of friendly and brotherly relations between the two countries in all spheres, the press service of the President of Azerbaijan.
It should be noted that the parties fairly quickly congratulated each other with victories in the elections and in the previous years, since 2003, when Ilham Aliyev came to power.
According to the CEC, Erdogan won the election with 52%. Inauguration of the 12th President of Turkey is scheduled for August 28th.
