The Public Alliance "Azerbaijan without political prisoners" condemned the death of a prisoner Elshad Babayev from torture in jail N14. The Alliance regarded the incident as a continuation of violence and lawlessness to stifle freedom of speech, expression and assembly. The murder of Elshad Babayev in custody testifies ill-treatment of prisoners. "Until now, no one has been punished for the murder, and it proves the existence of torture and abuse in prisons, corruption in the Prison Service," said in a statement.
