Alliance without political prisoners condemns the killing in jail N14
The Public Alliance "Azerbaijan without political prisoners" condemned the death of a prisoner Elshad Babayev from torture in jail N14. The Alliance regarded the incident as a continuation of violence and lawlessness to stifle freedom of speech, expression and assembly. The murder of Elshad Babayev in custody testifies ill-treatment of prisoners. "Until now, no one has been punished for the murder, and it proves the existence of torture and abuse in prisons, corruption in the Prison Service," said in a statement. The authors called on official Baku to release all political prisoners and an end to repression against the social and political activists. -05D04-

The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.

During the ongoing COP29 climate conference in Baku on November 14, a group of activists staged a protest condemning Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The activists also denounced countries that supply oil and weapons to nations waging aggressive wars. The protest featured placards with slogans such as: "From fossil fuels to peace!", "End war crimes!", "Punish the aggressor!", and "Phase out fossil fuel use to achieve peace!" among others.
