On April 21 the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported on clashes between the Armed Forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan, which killed five and wounded 10 Armenian servicemen. The battle took place in the Terter region at the contact line in Karabakh. The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry denied the report of the Armenian Defense Ministry that the battle took place as a result of attempts to curb an Azerbaijani subversive group to trespass the line of contact.
The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said that the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan are in full control of the entire line of contact and are ready to repel any provocations and attacks from the Armenian side.-0-

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. Azerbaijan" concerned the complainant's exclusion from the Bar Association. Mammadov was expelled based on a complaint filed by a colleague, which he considered unjust. The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.
