Armen Grigoryan on peace agreement and international mechanism on Karabakh
Baku/13.10.22/Turan: Armenia will seek to create "an international mechanism for Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan to discuss security and rights of Karabakh Armenians." Armen Grigoryan, secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, said this in an interview with Public TV on October 12.
According to him, these issues were discussed during his meetings in Washington with Anthony Blinken and Jack Sullivan, as well as with Azerbaijani presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev.
"The main agenda was how we can create an international mechanism for Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan to discuss the security and rights of Karabakh Armenians," he said.
Grigoryan noted that they also discussed the timing of a peace agreement, with a timetable set by the end of the year, as well as the issue of delimitation.
"We should have a peace agreement by the end of the year, and there was also an agreement that delimitation would take place by the end of the year, that is, the peace agreement and delimitation are interrelated," Grigoryan noted.
"On the agenda is also the withdrawal of Azerbaijani troops from the sovereign territory of Armenia, we also discussed the lifting of the blockade, an important issue here is that the lifting of the blockade in Armenia and the region, as well as in Azerbaijan will be based on the principle of reciprocity," he said. -02D-
