Armenia and Azerbaijan file lawsuits to international courts
Baku/17.09.21/Turan: In January this year, Azerbaijan filed a lawsuit against Armenia to the European Court of Human Rights. Besides, a lawsuit will be filed against Armenia on charges of violating the Convention on Racial Discrimination (ICERD), Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Leyla Abdullayeva said.
The statement followed Armenian media reports about the filing of a similar lawsuit against Azerbaijan.
Note that Azerbaijan collected and systematized documents on systematic and gross violations of the rights of Azerbaijanis after the liberation of the occupied territories, ethnic cleansing of Azerbaijanis in Armenia, tortures and murders.
The mining of huge territories by the Armenian side and the refusal to provide maps of minefields makes it impossible for hundreds of thousands of internally displaced persons to return home, Abdullayeva noted.
It should be added that Armenia accuses Azerbaijan of racial discrimination against Armenians and asks the UN International Court of Justice to hold Azerbaijan accountable for violations of the Convention and compensate for the damage. - 02D-
