Armenian Militants Driven out of Villages of Chalakkala and Kohne Taglar
Baku / 14.12.20 / Turan: The Azerbaijani armed forces have established control over Chalakkala (Khtsaberd) and Kohne Taglar (Khin Taher) in Nagorno-Karabakh.
A certain part of the villages of Khin Taher and Khtsaberd came under the control of the Azerbaijani special forces, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the Security Council on the evening of December 13.
Chalakkala (Khtsaberd) and Old Taglar (Khin Taher), according to the peace agreement of November 10, entered the zone of influence of the Azerbaijani army. However, a unit of Armenian militants refused to leave the region under various pretexts.
From their side, provocations and attacks were committed on the military and civilians of Azerbaijan, as a result of which there are killed and wounded, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said.
After repeated unsuccessful appeals to the Armenian authorities to ensure the withdrawal of militants from the territory, it was decided to conduct a counter-terrorist operation by the forces of the State Security Service and the army.
Official Baku has not yet made a statement on the results of the operation.
The commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, Lieutenant-General Rustam Muradov, said that the situation in the combat zone had returned to normal. —0—
