Armenian police officer accused of spying for Azerbaijan
Yerevan/05.02.14/Turan- ArmInfo: The National Security Service of Armenia reported exposing espionage in favor of Azerbaijan. According to the press center of the NSS, January 31 , was detained a former police officer in Armenia, Yerevan resident , 60 -year-old Khachik Egishevich Martirosyan.
" NSS has irrefutable evidence that H.Martirosyan, hoping to get financial assistance , in August 2013 on his own initiative contacted the embassy of Azerbaijan in Georgia and established communication with the intelligence personnel operating under the patronage of the Embassy of Azerbaijan by offering them his services.
Martirosyan received a suggestion from the special services of Azerbaijan to provide information of a military nature, and for this purpose he took several steps. Martirosyan received information and intended to pass it to the Azerbaijanis, but this intention was thwarted. A criminal case has been filed against the man under part 1 of article 299 of the Criminal Code," the statement said. -02D-
