Armenian Soldier Killed in Karabakh
Baku / 13.06.19 / Turan: As a result of a shootout on the contact line of troops in Karabakh, an Armenian soldier was killed, the Armenian Defense Ministry reported.
According to the ministry, "on June 13 at 17:05 in the north direction, as a result of a shot from the enemy, Artem Vazgenovich Khachatryan, a soldier of 1999, was fatally wounded."
In recent weeks, there has been an escalation of tensions on the line of contact of troops. On May 30, Azerbaijani soldier Agil Omarov was killed in the Karabakh conflict zone. The Armenian side reported on the death of its soldier Sipan Melkonyan on June 1. On 9 June, Khalilov Elshan Vugar Oglu, a soldier of the Azerbaijani Army, was killed by the enemy firing in the direction of the Terter front area.
Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan defiantly called the murder of the Azerbaijani military "punitive operation" and awarded its participants.
On June 12, the Armenian military unsuccessfully attacked the aircraft of the Azerbaijani Air Force carrying out scheduled training flights. -06D--

Adalyat Verdiyev, the head of the civil defense staff at the public legal entity Center for Public Health and Reform under the Ministry of Health, and a military expert, has been arrested. On November 22, during a media tour to the liberated territories, Verdiyev filmed and published information and images on his social media accounts revealing Azerbaijani Armed Forces' combat positions in the heights, deployment sites, coordinates, and operational conditions of the border troops. This disclosure caused significant damage to the interests of state security and defense capability. This was stated in a report from the General Prosecutor’s Office.

On Monday, the Baku Appeals Court considered the appeal of Talysh researcher Iqbal Abilov against the extension of his detention for another four months. The defense argued that the decision to extend Abilov's detention was unjustified, lawyer Fariz Namazly told reporters.
