Armenians Work out Scenarios for Onset of Nakhchivan
Erevan/06.09.13/Turan-ArmInfo: Stationed at the Nakhchivan direction, the Armenian armed forces carried out a large-scale military exercises, reported the Armenian Defense Ministry.
Exercising in this direction, the Armenian side motivates that with the incident on August 23, when an Armenian soldier was killed on the boundary Agarak - Ordubad, and one was wounded.
According to the press service of the Defense Ministry, the exercises will last 7 days, involving units of all types of troops. The exercise scenario plays out a counter-offensive with the performance of fire missions.
The trainings are held under the supervision of the Chief of the General Staff Yuri Khachaturov. September 4 the zone drills were attended by the Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan.
Preparing for the exercises began on Sept. 3. On that day the Yerevan – Yeraskh highway was filled with troop columns moving to the south. The convoy included military vehicles with armed forces personnel, artillery, and military equipment.
The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry has not commented on the trainings of the Armenian Armed Forces. -02D-
