On March 27 the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree "On conferring supreme military ranks to employees of the Ministry of National Security." According to the document, Major-General Veli Mamish oglu Aleskerov, Elchin Ersalan oglu Aliyev and Farhad Huseyn Vakhabov were awarded the highest military rank of Lieutenant General. Colonel Vugar Zulfugar oglu Allahverdiyev was given the rank of Major General. President Aliyev awarded a group of employees of the National Security Ministry orders and medals. In particular, the Order "For Service to the Fatherland" 3rd degree was awarded to Major-General and Akif Chovdarov and Colonel Elshad Mahmudzadeh.
