Awards and titles to the employees of the Ministry of National Security (MNS)
On March 27 the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree "On conferring supreme military ranks to employees of the Ministry of National Security." According to the document, Major-General Veli Mamish oglu Aleskerov, Elchin Ersalan oglu Aliyev and Farhad Huseyn Vakhabov were awarded the highest military rank of Lieutenant General. Colonel Vugar Zulfugar oglu Allahverdiyev was given the rank of Major General. President Aliyev awarded a group of employees of the National Security Ministry orders and medals. In particular, the Order "For Service to the Fatherland" 3rd degree was awarded to Major-General and Akif Chovdarov and Colonel Elshad Mahmudzadeh. Presidential decree confined to the professional holiday of workers of MNS, celebrated on March 28.
The Day of the staff of National Security of Azerbaijan was established March 23, 1997 by the decree of the then Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev.
The date for the celebration of the professional holiday of the National Security Ministry, was elected in connection with the creation of 28 March, 1919 the First secret services of Azerbaijan Democratic Republic (ADR) - Division of Intelligence and Counterintelligence in the military ministry.—06D--

The preliminary investigation into the case of Russian oligarch and former "state minister" of the separatist regime of Nagorno-Karabakh, Ruben Vardanyan, has been completed.
