Azerbaijan among Main Buyers of Russian Weapons
In 2011-2015 the volume of world arms trade grew by 14%. The main exporters were the United States (33%) and Russia (25%), the Stockholm Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) reported on worldwide arms exports.
Also in the top five exporters were China, France and Germany.
In 2011-2015, the Russian Federation exported weapons to 50 countries. The largest buyers of Russian weapons were India (39%), China and Vietnam (11% each), and Azerbaijan (4.9%).
According to official sources in Baku, the purchases of arms from Russia amounted to 3-4 billion USD in this period. -02D-
