Azerbaijan attaches special importance to relations with the United States of America, President Ilham Aliyev said in a congratulatory message to American leader Joe Biden on the occasion of the National Holiday of the United States – Independence Day.
"Our countries have always worked closely together in solving complex regional problems, combating terrorism and international security issues. He expressed Azerbaijan's readiness to "make joint efforts with the United States in all areas of mutual interest," and in particular on climate change and the transition to green energy.
"US. support for COP29, which will be held in Baku in November, is of great importance in promoting common climate goals within the framework of the event. At the same time, we are interested in expanding Azerbaijani-American relations in the humanitarian, cultural and tourism spheres, as well as in promoting inter-civilizational dialogue," Aliyev wrote.
According to him, Azerbaijan is a supporter of "building an integrated and inclusive model of regional cooperation in the South Caucasus, based on new geopolitical realities and justice, without any dividing lines." "As the initiator of the peace agreement with Armenia and the five principles underlying it, Azerbaijan has consistently demonstrated the political will to advance the peace agenda. We appreciate the determination of the United States to always support the normalization of relations with Armenia, the establishment of lasting peace in the region and the process of preparing a peace treaty," the head of Azerbaijan emphasizes.
Today, Aliyev continued, great prospects are opening up for the diversification of bilateral mutually beneficial trade and economic relations, the development of cooperation in the field of high technologies, digital and green transition, agriculture, investment, aviation and other areas.
