Azerbaijan softens visa regime for citizens of Ukraine
Baku/28.10.22/Turan: Citizens of Ukraine in Azerbaijan will be able to extend their stay in the country.
The head of the Public Relations Department of the State Migration Service, Elnur Kalantarov, said that according to the legislation, the period of stay of Ukrainian citizens in the country is 90 days.
“However, in connection with the situation in Ukraine, the appeals of citizens who arrived in Azerbaijan from this country are taken into account,” he said.
According to observers, up to ten thousand Ukrainian citizens arrived in Azerbaijan after the start of the Russian-Ukrainian war. At the same time, in April of this year, a representative of the State Migration Service reported that 6163 citizens of Ukraine applied to this institution. -0-

The detention took place near the Vadi İstanbul shopping center in the Sarıyer district, where a taxi was stopped. During the search, 70 kg of gold was found. The Azerbaijani citizen in the vehicle claimed ownership of the cargo and also stated that he was a diplomat. The investigation by the prosecutor's office is ongoing, reports Sabah newspaper. The media outlet does not disclose the name of the "diplomat," only his initials – M.G.Ş. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declined to comment on the situation.
