Azerbaijani activists call on the world community to support the protests in Iran
Baku/23.09.22/Turan: The Azerbaijan Platform for Supporting Democracy in Ukraine called on international organizations and democratic states to support the citizens of Iran who rose up against the totalitarian regime and not leave them face to face with despotism.
“Iran has become a new arena for the struggle between tyranny and democracy, tyranny and freedom. The despotic regime of Iran ruthlessly destroys human rights and freedoms," the Platform's address to the international community says.
The death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini at the hands of the morality police stirred up the people of Iran. “In protest against this bloody crime, the citizens of Iran rebelled against the tyrannical regime. The protests are an uprising for freedom, human rights and the right to self-determination,” the appeal continues.
*The Ukraine Democracy Support Platform was founded by a group of social activists on February 1 this year. The platform is an initiative of citizens who do not represent any political party or public association. ---03B06----
