Azerbaijani ambassador is summoned to the Foreign Ministry of Georgia
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Maya Panjikidze stated that official Tbilisi verifies information about the detention of Georgian deputies at Baku airport.
In an interview with reporters on Friday she said that the talk is about the arrest in the customs of the airport the members of the opposition "United National Movement".
"We have instructed the Georgian Embassy in Baku to recheck it," said Panjikidze.
In addition, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan was summoned to part of the Georgian Foreign Ministry, where he should inform the Georgian side with the details of the incident with the Georgian deputies.
Earlier, Ambassador Teymuraz Sharashenidze said that deputies Irma Nadirashvili and Zurab Japaridze were arrested for transporting undeclared currency.
"They will be temporarily detained at the airport terminal Baku with undeclared currency,"- the Georgian media quoted the ambassador.
