Azerbaijani armed forces begin large-scale exercises
Under the leadership of Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov and Chief of Staff Najmeddin Sadigov large-scale tactical exercises with participation of Azerbaijani armed forces of all kinds began on February 2. According to the press service of the Ministry of Defense, the exercises are held on behalf of the Supreme Commander Ilham Aliyev. They involve 15,000 personnel, 300 armored vehicles, more than 200 rockets, and artillery units, 20 units of aircraft, modern air defense systems. To check the connections and part of the task to mobilize, 5,000 military and 300 units of military equipment are involved in training. Venue exercises and their duration is not reported.-16D-

On November 15, animal rights activist Kamran Mammadli was detained while staging a protest at the COP29 climate conference. Mammadli was protesting the shooting of street dogs in Azerbaijan. He raised a sign above his head that read: "Azerbaijani authorities are shooting dogs on the streets!" He also shouted: "Resign those who teach youth to be sycophants under the guise of volunteerism!"
