Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on the meeting of the "Lazarev Club" in Yerevan
Baku/05.12.18/Turan: The press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry made a comment about in Yerevan, the first meeting of the Russian-Armenian "Lazarev Club" held on of November 30 - December 1 of this year.
One of the main initiators and organizers of this club, positioning itself as a new format of public diplomacy, is Konstantin Zatulin, who holds the post of first deputy chairman of the Committee on CIS Affairs of the Russian State Duma.
The invitation to this event of representatives of the illegal regime created in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, as well as the statements made at the meeting of the club by Zatulin himself, the former ambassador Vladimir Kazimirov, and the deputy director of the Institute of CIS Countries Vladimir Yevseyev and some other persons, contained open attacks on sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
This is aimed at damaging the existing high level of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia. In addition, the statements of K. Zatulin are not consistent with his status as the first deputy chairman of the relevant committee of the State Duma, going against the interests of developing cooperation within the CIS.
The speeches of V.Yevseyev, generally being delusional, strike the spirit of cooperation within the CIS. Finally, the general tone of the "Lazarev Club" meeting is contrary to the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair countries, including the Russian Federation, towards advancing the negotiation process to resolve the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.
The Azerbaijani side, through the Embassy in the Russian Federation, brought to the notice of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation its concern about this fact, the commentary said," the commentary noted. -02D-
