*The warning comes amid Iranian Foreign Ministry's spying charges against Azerbaijani citizen Farid Safarli, who disappeared in the country in March this year.
The young man went to Iran on February 20 to see his girlfriend. He has been out of contact since March 4. For nearly three months, Iranian authorities refused to provide information about the fate of the Azerbaijani citizen to his family and Azerbaijani officials.
** On January 27, with full connivance of Iranian law enforcement and intelligence agencies, an armed man attacked the Azerbaijani Embassy, killing one guard and wounding another. Heavy casualties were avoided thanks to the courage and bravery of a third visitor's guard, who managed to drive the armed terrorist out of the building in hand-to-hand combat.
After the attack on the Embassy on January 31 the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry called on its citizens to refrain from travelling to Iran. -06В-
