Azerbaijanis blocked the Lachin corridor
Baku/12.12.22/Turan: Early in the morning on December 12, several dozen Azerbaijani activists blocked a section of the Lachin corridor at a peacekeeping post near the city of Shusha. Traffic between Armenia and Karabakh has been interrupted.
The action is carried out by members of non-governmental organizations, who demand that the commander of the peacekeeping forces, General Volkov, come to them.
Activists hold banners condemning the inaction of the peacekeepers who failed to monitor the mines on December 10 by Azerbaijani environmentalists in the former Mardakert region of Karabakh. The protesters are chanting: "Shame on Volkov!"
According to the latest information, the activists set up tents on the Lachin road.
This is the second case of blocking the road by Azerbaijanis after December 3.
Last time, the road was released after the commander agreed with representatives of the state bodies of Azerbaijan that the peacekeepers would ensure the monitoring of the mines by representatives of Baku. However, on December 10, Azerbaijani specialists were not allowed by the Armenians to two mines in the former Mardakert region.
The need for monitoring is due to the fact that the Armenian side illegally exploits the natural resources of Azerbaijan and ignores the laws of the country.-02B-
