Baku/13.10.23/Turan: Azerbaijan is a reliable partner in the transit and transport sector for many CIS countries, President Ilham Aliyev said today speaking at the summit of the heads of state of the Commonwealth in Bishkek.
"Many CIS member countries are actively using Azerbaijan's transit opportunities along the East-West and North–South transport corridors. The ongoing and promising projects to expand the capacity of these two transport corridors will serve to strengthen the transport security of our countries and increase trade turnover," Aliyev stressed.
According to him, last year the volume of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and the CIS countries increased by almost 30%. This year, the increase will be 20%.
Aliyev also noted Azerbaijan's "great contribution" to the development of relations in the CIS in the humanitarian sphere. At the same time, Aliyev thanked his colleagues for supporting Azerbaijan's candidacy to host the third CIS Games in 2025. ---06D---
