Baku and Tbilisi united in development of trilateral cooperation in region - Aliyev
Baku/27.04.22/Turan: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has received Georgian Foreign Minister Iliya Darchiashvili today.
Aliyev stated that the bilateral relations between the two countries are based on mutual support and solidarity of the peoples of Azerbaijan and Georgia and have become an important factor in regional stability and cooperation.
Touching upon the prospects of cooperation, Aliyev emphasized new opportunities for partnership in the field of transport.
According to the President, the two countries have common views over the development of the South Caucasus. Thus, Baku and Tbilisi are united in their views on possibilities of developing trilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia, especially in the post-conflict period.
Noting that Azerbaijan and Georgia are ready for this, Aliyev voiced his hope that "Armenia will also understand that this is the only way to establish stability and security in the region".
On his part, Darchiashvili conveyed to the Azerbaijani President the greetings of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and an invitation to visit Georgia. He stressed Georgia's interest in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan.
The sides exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest as well.-06B-
