Baku authorities agreed Saturday rally of opposition
Baku / 20.09.17 / Turan: Baku's executive power responded positivelyto notification of the National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF) of its intentionto hold a rally on September 23 at the stadium "Mahsul".The action is scheduled for September 23 from 15.00 to 17.00 at the stadium "Mahsul". The leader of the Popular Front party Ali Kerimli stated earlier, that the actionis held in connection with the scandal "Landromat", about identifyinginternational investigative journalism network OCCRP withdrawal from Azerbaijan in 2012-2014 for the purpose of money laundering and paymentlobbying activities of 2.9 billion dollars.The NCDF requires the Prosecutor General's Office to start a criminal case in connectionwith funds withdrawn from the country, obtained through corruption.At the rally the NCDF will put forward demands for the return of those money illegally withdrawn from thecountry, and punishing those responsible. Shamshad Aga, editor of the "Argument.az" website, has been found guilty in the Meydan TV case of smuggling (Article 206.3.2 of the Criminal Code) and sentenced to two months and one day in detention.
