Because of bad weather Erdogan will arrive in Baku, not in Ganja
Because of bad weather, a strong fog in Ganja, the Turkish President Erdogan will visit not the city of Ganja, scheduled for February 18 , but Baku. In Ganja Erdogan was to take part in the meeting of the Turkish-Azerbaijani Council's high-level strategic cooperation with Ilham Aliyev. Senior officials of the General Staff of Turkey will arrive in Baku with Erdogan. The issues of bilateral relations, the situation in the region and the Karabakh conflict will be discussed, and a number of documents will be signed during the visit. -16D04-

The International Committee of Concerned Scholars (ICS) has appealed to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, requesting his assistance in securing the release of the arrested researcher, Igbal Abilov. The ICS expressed concern that Abilov's arrest "may be related to his research on ethnic minorities in Azerbaijan, conducted in collaboration with scholars from Armenia."
