On March 14-16 the parliamentary delegation from Belgium visited Nagorno-Karabakh, reported the Armenian media.
On March 15, the delegation was received by the "parliament speaker of Karabakh," Ashot Ghulyan. The delegation from Flanders included the Deputy Chairman of the Senate of Belgium Karl Fonlauven, Member of the Flemish Parliament Karim von Overmeyer, Ward Kennes, Mark Hendricks, and Professor Paul Mirts.
Ashot Ghulyan welcomed the position of the Flemish Parliament, which is for the "preservation of national identity."
Karim von Overmeyer in turn, declared sympathy for the "Democratic Artsakh", calling it "a fortress, not only for Armenia, but also for Europe."
"I think Artsakh is a part of the Christian world," said another deputy from Flanders Ward Kennes.
In turn, Senator Fonlauven likened the struggle of the Flemish for the national identity to the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Further delegation was received by the leader of Karabakh separatists Bako Sahakyan and Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan.
Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has not yet reacted to the visit and the statements of the Belgian deputies. Recall that such visits are considered a violation of the sovereignty of Azerbaijan and people who have visited Karabakh and other occupied territories without the consent of Baku are included in the black list and are prohibited from entering Azerbaijan. -02D-

"In the context of peace, we consider it possible to make a decision on the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group. When peace is an established fact, the existence of such a format may raise questions," Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a press conference today. "The whole question is about the timing, we need to understand how effectively and correctly to turn such topics into a subject of discussion right now," the Armenian Prime Minister added.

On August 31, Azerbaijan observes a "day of silence" before the Sunday’s early parliamentary elections for the unicameral Milli Majlis. All electoral campaigning is prohibited 24 hours before the voting. The early elections were initiated by the ruling Yeni Azerbaijan Party. This decision was motivated by the overlap of the scheduled elections in November with the global UN forum - the COP20 climate conference taking place in Baku.
