Bulgaria Relies on Southern Gas Corridor
March 4 in Sofia after the meeting between President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, Azerbaijani-Bulgarian documents were signed.
An intergovernmental agreement was signed in the fields of electronic communications, information technology and electronic control.
The document was signed by the Azerbaijani Minister of Communications and High Technologies Ali Abbasov and the Bulgarian Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski.
A protocol between the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Tourism of Bulgaria to expand cooperation in the field of tourism was signed by the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Bulgaria Emil Karimov and the Deputy Minister of Tourism of Bulgaria Irena Georgieva.
Then a press conference of Ilham Aliyev and Boyko Borisov was held.
Ilham Aliyev said that Bulgaria and Azerbaijan have established strong political connections that have excellent prospects. There is good cooperation between our countries in the framework of international organizations. Also great prospects exist for Bulgarian companies to invest in Azerbaijan.
Referring to the project Baku-Tbilisi-Kars, Aliyev said that this project is important to connect Europe with Asia.
He further said that the main topic of the talks was energy projects of the Southern Gas Corridor. He noted that the projects TANAP and TAP generate the project Southern Gas Corridor. Azerbaijan will continue to play its role in Europe's energy security.
Bulgaria is also a member of the Southern Gas Corridor and the future role of Bulgaria as a transit country will further increase.
In turn, Boyko Borisov said that regardless of who is represented in the political power in Bulgaria, Azerbaijan and Southern Gas Corridor will always be supported, since this project will give a powerful impetus to the development of the gas transportation system in Bulgaria.
Borisov also expressed interest in the project Baku-Tbilisi-Kars.
He also noted the broad prospects for cooperation in the fields of construction, pharmaceuticals, health, agriculture, sports, and others. -02D-
