Sunday at 16:00 on Fountain Square in the center of Baku there is appointed protest against rising fuel prices. The call for the participation of citizens in this action was posted in Youtube by the leader of the European Movement of Azerbaijan Ramin Hajili. However, in his video address Hajili appears as an ordinary citizen of the country.
He urged citizens to peaceful nonviolent silent protest.
According to him, the protesters will take clean white sheets of paper, raise them and carry out their rally in Fountain Square.
"We will not chant slogans, because the situation in the country is clear. We will protest just as citizens who are not on the side of the authorities or the opposition," said Hajili.
"We demand that the state respect and consider its citizens and see that they are civilized. We will take only white paper sheets, showing that we only want a light and a better life," said Hajili. -06D
