According to Veliyev, on January 4 he was called to the election commission, where he was informed about the lack of 4 signatures for registration by the candidate. The trial of disabled activist Famil Khalilov, who is paralyzed and has a first-degree disability, continued today in the Baku Serious Crimes Court. At the beginning of the trial, it was announced that the witness in this case would be unable to attend the hearing, so the trial was postponed to February 6. On Thursday, the trial of former deputy and entrepreneur Huseyn Abdullayev continued at the Baku Serious Crimes Court, chaired by Azer Tagiev. On January 30, it was announced that the judicial investigation had been updated due to Abdullayev's appeals to President Ilham Aliyev and the country's Prosecutor General. However, the appeals did not help, and the prosecutor reiterated the indictment, once again requesting a 10-year prison sentence for Abdullayev.
