Cavusoglu: Cooperation with Armenia Possible in Case of Stopping Aggressive Policies
Armenia with its occupation policy dooms itself to isolation. This was stated by the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu at the end of his talks with his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov.
"Turkey and Azerbaijan are working hard for the development and prosperity of the region, but Armenia still remains out of these projects. If Armenia retreats from its aggressive stance and liberates the occupied Azerbaijani territories, we are ready to see this country in our joint projects," said Cavusoglu .
According to him, the OSCE and the UN must multiply the efforts to resolve the Karabakh conflict on the basis of international law.
According to Cavusoglu, Turkey condemns genocide in Khojaly. "My visit coincided with the anniversary of the Khojaly genocide. I express my condolences to the people of Azerbaijan in connection with this tragedy," he said.
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, in turn, said that Azerbaijan continues to urge Armenia to liberate the occupied territories and to begin work on a major peace agreement.
According to him, the OSCE Minsk Group should facilitate the withdrawal of Armenian forces from the Azerbaijani territories. This is required by international law, the minister said.
The ministers also reported that they discussed joint energy and transport projects - the Baku-Kars railway and the pipeline TANAP. -06D--
