Commander of Azerbaijani Ground Forces on Syrian border
Azerbaijani Deputy Defence Minister Colonel-General Hikmet Mirzoyev has arrived in the border settlement of Kilis (Turkey's border with Syria).
The Turkish Defence Ministry reported that the Azerbaijani military took part in a meeting with the Command of the Turkish Special Forces.
Commander of the Ground Forces of the Turkish Armed Forces Bayraktaroglu informed about military co-operation and co-ordination of actions between the ground forces of Turkey and Azerbaijan, and about the operational experience gained, the report said.
Note that Commander of the Ground Forces of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces Hikmet Mirzoyev has been on an official visit to Turkey since 24 January. He held meetings with Turkish Chief of General Staff Metin Gurak and other commanders.
Earlier, the Azerbaijani leadership stated that it would participate with Turkey in the reconstruction of Syria. Apparently, Hikmet Mirzoyev's visit indicates Baku's intention to take part in the military operations in Syria.
