Committee to Protect Journalists Calls for Immediate Release of Nijat Amiraslanov
New York / 25.05.17 / Turan: The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) based in the US urged the Azerbaijani authorities to immediately release the journalist Nijat Amiraslanov, who was arrested for 30 days.
The CPJ statement calls for an end to the harassment and arrest of journalists on far-fetched charges.
Recall that the journalist living in the Gazakh region was accused of resisting the police and arrested on May 23 for 30 days.
According to colleagues and relatives, the real reason for the arrest was a critical Facebook status about Mehriban Aliyeva, whom he compared with a cake. -16D-
