Committee to Protect the Rights of Mahir Abdullayev is created
On Monday it was announced about the establishment of the Committee for Protect the Rights of Mahir Abdullayev, a former vice-rector of the Azerbaijan International University, and the officers of intelligence service, who disappeared 10 years ago.
The Committee was headed by his nephew, Azad Mursaliyev.
Abdullaev went missing on October 13, 2003, two days before the presidential election.
Committee seeks to find M.Abdullayev and return him to his family.
All this time M.Abdullayev’s relatives avoided public statements about his fate. Only after emigration to Europe, his brother, President of the Azerbaijani International University (AIU) Elshad Abdullayev has come up with accusations of involvement in the kidnapping of its brother by senior officials in the presidential administration and law enforcement.
According to E.Abdullayev to free his brother he gave different officials in ransom of about 10 million dollars, but Mahir Abdullayev was not returned.
Since last September E.Abdullayev placed on Internet videos of different individuals confirming the kidnapping of his brother, and the ownership of the officials.
In October last year after the appeal of E.Abdullayev to the president, an independent commission on the case of M.Abdullayev was created, however, there are not visible results of its work.-05D04-
