Common-European Karabakh rally in Berlin
Baku / 02.22.20 / Turan: A common-European Karabakh rally was held on February 22 in Berlin. The rally was timed to the 28th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide. The rally took place on Berlin Square in front of the Brandenburg Gate. It was organized by Azerbaijani Diaspora organizations. Representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora, who arrived from various countries of Europe, the post-Soviet space, as well as the USA and Canada, took part in the action. The rally was held under the slogans “Karabakh belongs to Azerbaijan!”, “We say no to terror!”, “Azerbaijan demands justice!”, “Do not remain indifferent to Khojaly!”, “Shame on the murderers of peaceful and innocent people!”, “Stop of Armenian lies! ”,“ Stop the occupation! ”,“Karabakh is our right! ”
The protesters demanded to give the political and legal assessment at the international level; to put pressure on Armenia to return the occupied Azerbaijani lands, restoration of the violated rights of Azerbaijanis expelled from their native lands, compliance by Armenia with the conflict of famous international documents. The rally was attended by over a thousand people, reports AZERTAC.
On the night of February 25-26, 1992, Armenian armed forces, with the support of the 366th regiment of the Russian army, captured the city of Khojaly, which by that time was in complete blockade. The military operation was accompanied by monstrous crimes against the civilian population. 613 people were killed, including women, children, the elderly, 487 Khojaly were wounded, 1275 were taken hostage, 150 were missing. –06D--
