Council of Europe chooses new co-rapporteur on Azerbaijan
Baku/12.10.22/Turan: Today, the Monitoring committee of the Council of Europe has chosen a new co-rapporteur on Azerbaijan. This is Lise Christoffersen from the Norwegian Labor Party.
The Monitoring Committee gave her a mandate for 5 years. Lise Christoffersen will monitor all shortcomings in the field of democracy, human rights, corruption and elections in Azerbaijan.
Before her, stefan Schennach from Austria was the Rapporteur of the PACE Monitoring Committee on Azerbaijan. -16D-

On January 21, the Baku Serious Crimes Court continued the trial of the Abzas Media case. The court heard testimony from the director of the publication, Ulvi Hasanly, who rejected the charges against him. He believes that these activities provoked the authorities' anger towards the journalists.
