Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Caspian littoral states will be held in Moscow
Baku/05.12.23/Turan: The meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Caspian littoral states will be held on December 5 in Moscow under the chairmanship of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
The parties plan to discuss regional issues of mutual interest, with an emphasis on priorities for the development of Caspian cooperation, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.
"The importance of the Caspian Sea for the Russian Federation is predetermined by its strategic position in the center of Eurasia, at the crossroads of the continent's transport and energy arteries, the presence of a huge amount of minerals and bio-resources, as well as by the factor of interweaving of civilizations living here," Lavrov said.
According to him, it is necessary to maintain peace, stability and security in the region and ensure the rational use of resources, protection and preservation of the natural environment of the Caspian Sea. -0-
