Crime Statistics for Nine Months
For the first 9 months of this year, the Ministry of Internal Affairs registered 8,288 crimes, of which 88.5% are serious and not constituting a big public danger, and 11.5% are especially serious crimes.
This was announced at a meeting on October 27, following the results of 9 months, by the head of the Baku Main Police Department Elkhan Hasanov. According to him, in comparison with last year in the statistics of crimes there is a decline. Total crime decreased by 9.4%, especially grave crimes - by 38.4%, and crimes against the person - by 4.6%. In addition, 79.8% accounted for the detection of common crimes, 80.5% - grave crimes, and 74.4% - crimes committed under unknown conditions. Detection of crimes against the person was 94%, premeditated murder - 90.7%, and attempted murder - 100%.
It was also noted at the meeting that 430 traffic accidents were committed in Baku in 9 months. As a result, 147 people died. In comparison with the same period of 2017, the number of accidents decreased by 4.4%, and the number of injured decreased by 7.1%.
In connection with the traffic control process, it was noted that in 9 months 668,406 administrative violations were registered. The number of violations related to speeding was 303,969, while driving while intoxicated was in 1 769 cases. -0-----
