Defense Appeals against Gezal Bayramlis Arrest
Baku / 30.05.17 / Turan: The Baku Court of Appeal has received complaints about the arrest of the Deputy Chairman of the Popular Front Party Gezal Bayramli and the degrading treatment at the customs checkpoint on her return from Georgia on May 25.
As the lawyer Elchin Sadigov wrote on his Facebook page, the complaints will be considered on May 31 or July 1.
The lawyer also lodged a complaint about the search and seizure in the apartments where Bayramli lived and was registered. According to the lawyer, there were no legal grounds for the search and seizure.
It should be reminded that Bayramli was detained on the Azerbaijani-Georgian border on May 25.
The frontier service claims that Bayramli was seized 12,000 undeclared US dollars, on the basis of which a criminal case was filed under Article 206.1 (smuggling) of the Criminal Code.
Bayramli rejected the accusations and called them politically motivated.
The next day the court in Baku arrested Bayramli for 3 months. -03B06-

However, their true goal was to take control of the region, to insert themselves into it, and to push out Russia, as well as Iran and Türkiye, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated at a briefing on November 13.
