Defense Ministry urged not to politicize the death of a soldier
The press services of the Defense Ministry and the Military Prosecutor issued a joint statement, in which they accused "certain forces" of trying to politicize the death of the soldier Seymour Allahverdiyev and create a negative image of the army.
The Defense Ministry is particularly outraged by the campaign of criticism that developed in the social networks against the army, and the calls for protests.
As for the death of Seymour Allahverdiyev on February 28, the Military Prosecutor's Office investigation team conducted a crime scene examination and the version of the soldier’s suicide by a standard-issue machine gun was fully confirmed.
During the forensic examination it was found that the soldier’s body had no traces of beatings or other signs of abuse.
A criminal case was filed under Article 125 of the Criminal Code (incitement to suicide).
The Defense Ministry expressed its condolences to the families and friends of the victims and promised to conduct a full and impartial investigation into the causes of the suicide.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense tried to ignore these facts and reacted only after serious public protests. -03D-
