Deputy Chairman of Terter organization "Musavat" is arrested
The deputy chairman of the regional organization of the party "Musavat" in Terter region , 60-year-old lawyer Khagani Mammadov, was arrested on charges of hooliganism, in connection with the incident on July 23, Turan was told by the lawyer of the party "Musavat", Elman Fattah.
On that day Mammadov came to his office, where he met a group of women.
Mammadov invited them into the room. Upon entering, they attacked, began to insult him, calling him "oppositional." Realizing that it was a provocation, Mammadov called the police. Thereafter, women left the office. On the same day, he filed a complaint with the police.
However, Mammadov himself was arrested on charges of hooliganism. However, the court of Terter region did not grant police about the arrest Mammadov, confining house arrest.
After the prosecutor's office appealed the decision, and on August 2 the Ganja Court of Appeal declined the decision on house arrest, and imprisoned Mammadov for two months.
Fattah believes that Mammadov is persecuted for political reasons. At the presidential election Mammadov was the head of the electoral headquarters of the National Council of the democratic forces. Fattah compared the case of Mammadov with the criminal prosecution of other regional activists Hasan Huseynli – in Ganja, and Yadigar Sadigov in Lankaran.-06B-
